More About P!

The Full Story

Ever since I was a little girl, helping others has always been at the core of my personality, and is something that I see as a great opportunity for learning. Thankfully, my major - Language and International Health - has provided several opportunities for service learning in healthcare, which is where I have really found my passion. I am working towards a future in service, most likely in public health, where I can use my skill set and educational background to be able to promote health equity, and while doing so remain open minded and equally as passionate. Feel free to click on the links in the toolbar to learn more about me, experiences I have had, and what I have learned in my recent years.
Coming from a small island on the coast, community has always been a huge part of my life, and has taught me so much about trust, responsibility, and compassion. I have also been surrounded with many great examples of generosity and empathy in my life, making them now some of my biggest core values. Having experience in customer service, healthcare, public health, and community service here and abroad, I have picked up many skills along the way that have shaped the person I am today. Serving others abroad in the Dominican Republic and Honduras provided for a new perspective of how much lifestyle, culture, and environment affect health. Being able to shadow in a private hospital in Spain even furthered this understanding of how culture and health are intertwined. These experiences have also taught me how important language is in being able to connect with populations to serve them best.
With a long history of Spanish based education, this blend of spanish and health practice is a perfect mix in assisting others with a holistic approach. My peers have always described me as a good listener that comes with an energetic personality, which I think I can effectively use in my upcoming experiences. I am eager to gain more experience and knowledge in this field, and am excited to embark on any new challenge or opportunity that is thrown my way. I am enthusiastic to continue to learn about how to better serve others, no matter where it is in the world! Feel free to use the contact information at the bottom of this page with any questions
